Described as a physiological thriller, Frieda McFadden’s novel “Do Not Disturb” explores the life of Quinn Alexander, a woman on the run after committing a heinous crime.
Now, the be completely honest, the book was good, but It was nothing groundbreaking. The writing style was not complex, nor was the storyline completing earth-shattering.
That said, I did blitz this novel in only 2 sittings, which equated to around 3 hours of reading time. It is an easy-read, and I did genuinely enjoy the book. But, having read some previous 5 star novels, and due to the simplicity of the writing, storyline, and “plot twist” I decided on giving Do Not Disturb a total of 3 stars.
I would say, it was disappointing that all of the twists, and “main” action seemed to happen and conclude in the last 50 pages. I felt there was a lot of almost unmet anticipation. I wanted more from the end, but as I say, still a good, easy read!
I definitely would recommend this book to anyone wanting to get into thrillers. This isn’t your Stephen King or Lee Child kind of thriller, but still a good one nonetheless.
